We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership as a Social Media and Communications Officer.  This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual who has a sharp eye for detail and an ability to adapt communication activity for different target audiences.

You will be able to take complex information and turn it into plain English, as well as using your key research skills and creative writing ability to produce a variety of news articles, briefing notes and newsletters for different target audiences.

You will have the ability to communicate and engage effectively at all levels in any given situation and be confident in building and maintaining positive working relationships.

You will take day to day responsibility for the running of the BSCP social media channels and work closely with the Serious Cases and Communications Programme Manager to develop, maintain and improve our website. You therefore must have previous experience in website development, web content writing and web page building, along with social media communications strategy planning and work programme delivery experience. You will also be responsible for producing social media analytics in a timely and accurate manner.

You will have excellent listening skills and be able to constructively challenge colleagues when creating website, intranet or social media copy, to ensure any copy published is accurate, in line with branding guidelines and written in a way that the intended audience fully understands.

You should have substantial experience of working within a fast-paced, time-focused environment, ideally within public sector, along with the willingness to work with your colleagues to achieve our common goal.
