An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager (GRADE 6) in the  EMPOWER U Team (Exploitation and Missing Hub) Citywide Service.

We are seeking an innovative individual to lead and manage in the development of this team in the areas of child exploitation and missing.

The successful applicant will need to have knowledge of Child Protection Procedures and be expected to ensure that high quality services are being delivered to children, providing constructive challenge where needed.

Leading a team of specialist workers, you will manage and develop the multi -agency team within the hub taking a contextual safeguarding approach with some of our most vulnerable children who are being exploited.

Working within the context of Contextual Safeguarding model( University of Bedfordshire) to evaluate practice through impact (quality of practice delivered) and outcomes (difference it makes to the child and family);your role will be to utilise partnership work with agencies, work to improve practice by learning from child(ren) parent/carer and the community to support the larger workforce and partners to increase awareness, identification and understanding of child exploitation  and children that go missing ;whilst ensuring that robust disruption plans are in place; identify diversion and intervention support.

This is a developing hub and your role will also include:

  • Develop practice guidance in line with the contextual safeguarding agenda with a focus on supporting children and their families who are at risk of harm beyond their families.
  • Create resources and approaches for assessing and intervening.
  • Support to develop training programmes to promote awareness
  • Promote and manage culture change
  • Develop a positive working culture.
  • Lead by example, by maintaining the highest standards of practice and empowering others to do the same.
  • Promote anti -racist practice
  • Develop good practice by learning from children/parents /carers and communities

In addition, you will need to possess excellent chairing, analytical, communication and partnership working skills. The successful applicant will be able to ensure effective decisions are made for some of our most vulnerable children who go missing and are at risk of/ are being exploited. The successful applicant will need to work closely with social care services, the police, education, health, voluntary sector, Integrated gang’s team, youth offending services.

The post holder is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
