Birmingham Children's Trust

Birmingham Children’s Trust; Children Advice & Support Service (CASS) is the front door to the largest children’s service department in the country. It is playing its role in making the service thrive for excellence.

The service learnt a great deal when we worked through the pandemic and developed processes accordingly. We have retained hybrid working arrangements that sees workers enjoying the flexibility of moving between remote working from home and the office base. We have developed technology to ensure we have seamlessly continued to provide an effective service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner based in CASS. We have created a post for a 12-month contract as part of our ongoing exercise in developing & strengthening our front door service offer. The role of SP means you will alongside team managers lead on decision making around new families referred into BCT

We provide a consistent service working with a wide range of issues pertaining to children and their families, who we work collaboratively with. Our key role is to manage new referrals into the organisation. In CASS we have a well-established and consistent workforce across the four teams in this area of practice. Our Multi-Agency Safeguarding HUB (MASH) is also situated alongside CASS.

The hours of work are 08:45 until 17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 until 16:15 on a Friday, with an hour lunch break.

Most social workers in CASS have been in post for several years so there is a good level of knowledge & expertise, helping with the process of new workers settling in.

We are looking for an enthusiastic social worker who ideally has experience in children and families.

The CASS environment gives the successful applicant the opportunity to be involved in crucial initiatives such as supporting student placements as part of our commitment towards enhancing social workers development and prioritising your CPD.

You must have completed your ASYE to apply for this vacancy.

The closing date for this advert will be Sunday 14th April 2024

Interviews will be held at One Aveune Road, Birmingham on 30th April and 1st May 2024
