The No Recourse to Public Funds team are looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our city-wide team.

You’ll play a lead role in our relationship-based, trauma informed family-led practice model, managing a complex caseload, providing technical and professional expertise, as well as mentoring and professional support to the rest of the social work team members and students.

We’ll also look to you to lead multi-agency forward thinking approach, encouraging robust consistent partnerships with other service teams and outside agencies, plus the police, health, home office, schools and voluntary organisations. 

We will look to you to analyse the information presented to make informed decisions completing all assessments in line with statutory requirements, as well as implementing, monitoring and reviewing children’s wellbeing within multi-agency meetings.

About you….

This is a key role in our organisation, so naturally we’re looking for extensive experience of working with vulnerable children, families, statutory bodies and voluntary agencies preferably within NRPF and experience of working in a high challenge environment.

You must hold a recognised social work qualification and have current active registration with Social Work England.

You will be working in our No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team in line with our Service Offer with children whose parents have NRPF and are at risk of homelessness and destitution; as their parents are restricted from accessing mainstream housing, welfare benefits or employment. Where identified, subsistence and/or accommodation through section 17 of the Children’s Act 1989 will be arranged following an assessment. You will also have experience of undertaking safeguarding interventions and escalating as appropriately required.

You will be able to build effective relationships, carry out assessments, be confident in partnership working with children, families and professionals, enabling their full participation in assessment, planning, review and decision making. 

You will be able to work independently and be a key team player and offer leadership as required to colleagues.

You must hold a recognised social work qualification and have current active registration with Social Work England.

Your qualifications will be complemented by your exceptional skillset – including communication, sound judgement, analytical thinking, teamwork and inclusivity in your approach.
