Do you agree that decisions that affect a whole family should be made with the whole family?

Do you believe that families should be partners in safety planning?

If so, you may be interested in an exciting opportunity to join the Family Group Conference (FGC) Service. The FGC Service will be delivering a new DfE funded programme – Supporting Families, Investing in Practice. The FGC project puts families at the heart of making safe decisions and plans for children that are at immediate risk of being taken into care. Children and young people are involved in the conference along with their wider family network, and often supported by an advocate from outside the family. Together, a plan is agreed by all those involved and families agree to meet again to assess how well the plan is going and make the changes necessary to protect children.

To deliver this, we are looking for a Family Group Conference Team Manager to join Birmingham Children’s Trust. You will be part of the Trust’s exciting journey of innovation and development. You will play a pivotal leadership and management role, ensuring the quality and standards of professional practice and performance are adhered throughout the project. It will be your responsibility to lead on the delivery and ensure that targets and timescales are adhered to at all times. Alongside this you will be expected to be part of and update the Steering Group and ensure that the Project brief is understood and observed across the Trust.

With extensive experience in Children and Family settings, you will have knowledge of safeguarding children and planning of interventions with vulnerable children. You will effectively manage your resources, ensuring the positive projection and profile of the Family Group Conference Service. You will have a natural ability to build and motivate your team and set high standards, encouraging open discussion and innovation, supporting performance, building capability and empowering staff.

Join us on our journey to make sure all our people feel valued and supported, keeping children safe and helping them achieve their potential.
