We are seeking experienced candidates only, who hold a recognised social work qualification and are registered with Social Work England.

We will  look to you to take a leading role in improving the quality of professional social work across the breadth of the casework cycle, complying with legislative requirements at all times and in accordance with best practice.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social worker with the Children with Disabilities, Assessment and Short Term Intervention Team (ASTI). The team assesses the situation of children in need who have been referred to us by the multi-agency screening hub.  Many of these children will be living in precarious situations, so you will review the information presented to you and make decisions on child protection enquiries, making sure legislative requirements are met.

As well as managing your own complex caseload, we will expect you to provide technical and professional expertise to less experienced social workers, mentoring them and sharing your knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, guidance, research, policy and procedures. Another important part of the role will involve actively promoting a ‘joined-up’ approach to effective partnership working, with service users as well as other teams, agencies and organisations.
