Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP) is looking for a Manager to join our Business Support Unit to lead our learning and workforce development programme.  You will be an integral part of the management team providing dedicated support to the Executive Board and Learning and Development Sub-Group focused on driving implementation of the Business Improvement Plan and training and conference programme. The Business Support Team is hosted by the Birmingham Children’s Trust at offices in the city Centre.

Our Business Improvement Plan 2019/21 sets out priorities to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children and young people in Birmingham.  You will be responsible for managing a training budget and leading the partnership’s workforce development programme to support improving practice on our identify priorities, overseeing the commissioning and delivery of a comprehensive multi-agency training and conference programme.   During the last 12 months we have delivered 181 courses, covering 16 topics reaching 3,718 delegates.

This is a very rewarding role for the right person, providing an opportunity to forge close working relationship with colleagues and partners across a broad range of safeguarding organisations in Birmingham and across the West Midlands.

We need someone who has substantial experience in commissioning, delivering and evaluating training and is capable of making decisions quickly and efficiently. There will be occasions when you will be expected work closely with subject matter experts to facilitate and deliver learning events. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of team are also essential.
