Working 36.5 hours per week, the Children’s Commissioning Team is offering the role of a Placements Officer within the Children’s Placements Team.
As a Placements Officer you will provide a placement finding service for Children in Care. You will promote the wellbeing of children while also working on the principle of Best Value.
You will have responsibility for managing and organising a caseload of children who require planned & emergency placements into residential, fostering or supported accommodation provision
You will be familiar with, and have the ability to work within, legislation and guidance governing the placements of children in care, preferably already with placement, social work, residential work, or in a safeguarding experience.
You must be proficient in the use of IT, be able to interrogate multiple applications, and able to work under pressure
You will maintain effective case recording and information systems and maintain a bespoke computer system relating to placements
You will have the ability to negotiate appropriate levels of service provision taking into account best values principles and promote good working relationships with internal & external professionals
