Birmingham Children’s Trust Legal Team is looking to strengthen its current administrative support service with the addition of a Legal Practice Manager in our Business Support service. The Trust is on a significant improvement journey to provide better outcomes for Children Young People and Families and ensuring the best Legal support is a critical part of that journey.
As Practice Manager, you will join a team on its own development journey, be supporting the delivery of their strategic priorities and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the support of the Legal Team.
Working closely with the clerical, legal assistants, solicitors, Heads of Service and Assistant Director you will play a pivotal role in the effective day to day running of the Team in relation to all administrative functions including finance and HR and recruitment. You will be part of the Legal Management team and ensure that support services are as efficient as possible.
We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar environment; who possess outstanding leadership and management skills, who is well organised, can work to and meet tight deadlines; who is articulate and has a proactive approach to all their duties.
You must be able to work effectively within a team environment, be customer focused and be able to deliver the role with a flexible approach.
As part of your role you will be responsible for delivering the Practice management function, managing and developing a team of support staff.
You will also ensure the day to day operations of the Legal Practice are delivered in an accurate and timely way, financial processes are robust and accurate our court materials and case management are of the appropriate standards.
You will manage the preparation and delivery of bundles and any legal documents to the courts and legal chambers across the City and outside of the Birmingham boundaries are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
You should be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent vocational qualification in business administration or other relevant field; or be able to demonstrate relevant equivalent experience.
You should have demonstrable experience of working and managing in a legal, professional service or similar environment with experience relevant to the functions of the service.
You must have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate within and influence others effectively at all levels within the team and with outside organisations.
Demonstrable experience of effective leadership coupled with the ability to be innovative and able to plan and implement change within an organisation.
The selection process will consist of an interview and online assessment.
