We are looking to recruit two Senior Practitioners within the support area of fostering services. You will work closely with the team manager to effectively manage, supervise and develop a social work team within the Independent Fostering Agency and deliver child focused fostering agency services as required within the regulatory and legislative frameworks for fostering agencies. The role will also require holding some complex cases as well as supervising staff. You will also deputise for the Team Manager; as and when required.  Other main aspect of the role is to participate in the oversight of fostering placements duty and out of hours on call support for staff and foster carers.

Key components of the role will be to safeguard children and young people, provide supervision to fostering social workers, provide support to foster carers including promoting their ongoing training and development needs, manage change and implement and support quality assurance systems.

About you

As a qualified, social worker registered with the Health Care Profession Council, you will bring significant professional experience and learning - from practice to supervision to fulfil the Fostering Agency Senior Practitioner Role and Responsibilities.

You must have a proven record for successfully managing change or improvement to services and practices in fostering and children and families; plus experience of delivering services through a regulatory inspection Framework.

You should be passionate and proactive in supporting your staff and team manager, coupled with the relevant skills, resilience, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and demands to aspire to promote high aspirations and outcomes for the children looked after within our agency. 

With excellent communication and relationship building skills, you must inspire a positive culture of high performance, clear direction, collaboration and dialogue.
