Birmingham Children's Trust

You will be responsible for overseeing and leading on the delivery of our daily internal fostering placements service with a team of x 3 duty fostering social workers.  You will seek to develop this part of our fostering agency services in partnership with the fostering services, registered manager and the Birmingham Childrens Trust placements service. 

This post will also require timely records and analysis of the cohort of children looked after on a weekly basis with an emphasis on always seeking to place children looked after within the internal fostering services to ensure children are placed and matched locally, with experienced foster carers in all areas of Birmingham and that we provide the best value always.

About you

As a qualified, social worker registered with the Health Care Profession Council, you will bring significant professional experience and learning - from practice to supervision to fulfil the Fostering Agency Senior Practitioner Role and Responsibilities.

You must have a proven record for successfully managing change or improvement to services and practices in fostering and children and families; plus experience of delivering services through a regulatory inspection Framework.

You will be required to work closely in partnership with our placements team, fostering support team managers and social workers, and commissioning services to identify and make timely and appropriately matched internal fostering placements that will promote best outcomes and experiences for children who are looked after.

You should be passionate and proactive in supporting your staff and team manager, coupled with the relevant skills, resilience, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and demands to aspire to promote high aspirations and outcomes for the children looked after within our agency. 

With excellent communication and relationship building skills, you must inspire a positive culture of high performance, clear direction, collaboration and dialogue.

.You will be required to be registered as a Social Worker with the HCPC.
